The Vision

Marie Rivalant-Lazarakis needs no introduction in Kastellorizo. For over 20 years, she has been the heart and soul of the famous Mediterraneo Hotel, which has literally put the island on the in-the-know, cool and sophisticated travelers’ map – along with the Oscar-winning movie Mediterraneo in 1991 and Pink Floyds' eponymous song.

Together with friend, interior designer and island neighbor, Luc Lejeune, they dreamt of a place that would capture the spirit of the island.

Soon they came across a site that lived up to their expectations and vision. The third partner, Grégoire Du Pasquier, another architectural designer, soon joined and Casa Mediterraneo  was conceived.

Creating a place that celebrates the island and shares the emotions, experiences and memories collected throughout the years.

Showing the utmost respect for the environment. All in all, designing a getaway to unwind, where open-mindedness and generosity set the tone, evoking the nostalgia of the simple, tranquil childhood holidays of the 70s. Just like being in a summer family house.
